The Net Worth chart is not showing the full value of my clients' assets. Why?
It is the case that, where a couple are unmarried, the software shows the 'Net Worth' as being what is owned (in whole, or in part) by the 'primary client', and excludes assets that are wholly owned by the partner. Rightly, or wrongly, this is an attempt, on our part, to avoid making any unwarranted assumptions about the nature of the clients' relationship.
The good news is that there is another 'chart' option (in the Let's See screen) labelled 'Plan Worth', which fully incorporates all accounts/assets within the plan, regardless of ownership (including Trust accounts).
