ARCHIVE - "Application Blocked by Java Security" message when installing Voyant Adviser **Voyant Adviser, UK and Ireland**

Q - I am unable to launch Voyant. When I try to install it, I get a Java security pop up that says "Application Blocked by Java Security."

A - Installing and launching Voyant Adviser requires Voyant to have an association with Java on your computer. Once the association is established, the installation will proceed as intended. In this instance, the process is halted by Java's security settings. The workaround is to add the Voyant URL to Java's "Exception Site List" as follows. Note. The instructions vary depending on which browser and/or operating system you are using.

  1. Locate the Java Control Panel. On a Windows computer, search for Java by entering "Java" as the search term in the Windows search box located at lower left of your screen adjacent to the Windows logo. Click on the "Configue Java" desktop app which will bring up the Java control panel.
  2. Click on the Security tab and add "" to the exceptions list located at the bottom of the panel. Click the "Edit Site List..", add the site and then "OK."

Close the Java control panel and go back to the Voyant web site ( Once you are logged in, click the "Download Voyant Adviser" button and the "Plan Now" button on the subsequent page.

If this does not launch Voyant Adviser, you may need to go through the steps of manually associating the Voyant installer with Java. Step-by-step instructions to do this can be found here.

Missing Java File Type Association - When attempting to install or launch Voyant, nothing appears to happen or I receive an "Open with" prompt
