ARCHIVE - Proxy Settings, does your browser use special proxy settings and if so, where would you find them? **Voyant Adviser, UK and Ireland**

Voyant uses a cloud based operating system (the Amazon UK cloud environment) to host its service. To operate, the software must be able to connect to and pass files to and fromhttp://www.planwithvoyant.co.uk/voyant/client/ via HTTPS.

There are no special port requirements from the software's perspective, only the standard HTTP and HTTPS ports, 80 and 443, or requests may be routed through a proxy server if your network uses one.

If your network uses a firewall or proxy server (or in some cases if your computer uses a locally installed firewall), you may need to configure Voyant or in some cases Java itself to send and receive files to and from the Voyant servers.

Additional information on how to configure Voyant or possibly Java with proxy settings can be found in the following topics.

Ports, Proxy Settings, and Firewalls - How to manually configure Voyant with network proxy settings

Proxy Servers - How to manually configure proxy server settings in Java (only when necessary)

If you are having problems launching Voyant but aren't sure whether your requests are being routed through a local or network proxy server, a good place to check is in your browser's settings on the computer in question. Where you check for these settings will depend on your browser and in some cases, whether you are on a Windows computer or a Mac.
