Q - I have completed a couple of reports and saved a report set on my PC called "Standard Report". I am now working on a different PC and the report set doesn't show. The "Standard Report" contains all reports the adviser has decided he would like run for every client. We need to standardise these across all computers. Can this be done?
A - If your firm uses rebranding, simply let us know the preferred name of each report set, which of the reports each set will need to include, and what the ordering of the reports should be in each set.Otherwise, reports sets are, as you've found, stored only for your user account on the given computer on which they are created and saved. If your firm does not use rebranding, you could instead copy your report set from one computer to another by going to your Voyant base directory. 1. First go to the computer on which the reports sets are currently stored and open the .Voyant directory. In Windows, the reports set file will be found in the following directory. C:\Users\[YOUR USER LOGIN NAME TO THE COMPUTER]\.Voyant\wwwplanwithvoyantcouk\[YOUR VOYANT USER NAME]\core In this directory you will find a file called engageUserReportSet.xml. ![]() 2. Copy the file.
3. Next, go to the computer to which you want to copy the report set. NOTE: Be sure that Voyant is not currently running on this computer. If Voyant is running you may not be permitted to save over the original reports set file. 4. Find the same directory on this computer and paste the report set into it. Again, on Windows computers this directory will be: C:\Users\[YOUR USER LOGIN NAME TO THE COMPUTER]\.Voyant\wwwplanwithvoyantcouk\[YOUR VOYANT USER NAME]\core NOTE: Reports sets are stored in a user-specific sub-directory so if multiple users (Voyant user names) are being used on a given computer, you would need to store the report set into the sub directory for each. |
