Assets detailed report: assets have different colours in different reports for same client

Q: Is there a way to ensure where assets show up in more than one report, they have one single colour, so that clients can more easily compare reports?

A: I understand your question about consistent color-coding for assets across different reports. However, the way our detailed asset charts are generated, the colors are assigned dynamically based on the order in which each asset appears in the calculation. We have a palette of 20 colors, and they are sequentially assigned to assets as they are processed. For example, the "Home" account is blue because it's typically the first asset calculated. But there is no guarantee that will remain blue across all charts/plans.

If a chart contains more than 20 assets, the color palette will cycle, meaning colors will repeat. Since the number of individual assets can theoretically be very large and vary significantly between reports, we cannot reliably assign a specific, consistent color to each individual asset.

In contrast, our simplified asset chart uses consistent colors for each account type. This is possible because the number of account types is finite and remains the same across all plans. Therefore, we can consistently associate a specific color with each account type, regardless of the individual assets within those types.
