Question:
Why does the Net Worth on the Dashboard show a different value than the Net Worth report or on the Net Worth Chart?
Answer:
The difference between the Net Worth on the Dashboard and the Net Worth report or Let's See Screen Net Worth Chart is due to the timing of when values are calculated in Voyant.
Dashboard Net Worth: Displays the Net Worth as of Day One of the plan, reflecting only the assets as they are initially entered. It does not include any windfalls, scheduled income, or growth that occurs during the first year.
Net Worth Report and Chart: Shows the Net Worth at the end of the first year, including any windfalls received, scheduled income, and growth that has occurred during that year. This is why the report figure may be higher than the initial Dashboard value.
If you have removed windfalls and the numbers still don’t match exactly, it can be helpful to:
Review other inflows or growth assumptions
Check the timing of asset entries
Use the year-by-year Balance Sheet and Income vs. Expenditures overviews to reconcile figures and identify discrepancies
