How to clear browser cache in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge

Why clear your browser cache?

Clearing cache forces your browser to retrieve the most recent webpage elements instead of pulling older components from cache. If you find that AdviserGo isn’t displaying properly following an update, we recommend that you first try doing a hard refresh, which will clear cache for the particular page you are viewing and reload it, without fully clearing your browser cache. This is a quick, unobtrusive option. Instructions on how to force a hard refresh of a page can be found here.

However, if this doesn’t resolve the issue, fully clearing the cache will likely resolve the problem.

Resetting could also help in the event of 404, 502, and other errors that may be caused by a corrupt cache, and also clear any private data you have stored in the form of login IDs, passwords, and additional sensitive information you’d rather not save on your machine. It’s also a simple trick you can employ to shed any unnecessary data, which could slow down your browser.

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome and click the Chrome menu icon represented by three horizontal dots (the vertical ellipsis) in the upper-right corner of the browser window, and click Settings near the bottom of the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Then, click the link for Privacy and Security in the left sidebar. You’ll then want to click that and look for the Clear browsing data option.
