In this video, we will be discussing how to enter a debt into the Voyant software.

From your dashboard, click the plus button in the bottom right corner and go to Debts and Loans. Select Debt.

In this section, you can enter several types of debt. For example, if you are looking to add a mortgage, you would enter the mortgage information here. If you already have properties in the plan, you can go to Linked Property, link to an existing property, and select the property from the plan.

For this example, I’ll show you how to enter credit card debt. Select Revolving Credit Card, and name it “Credit Card Debt.”

Let’s say, for example, Tom has $15,000 in credit card debt that he is currently trying to pay down. He has told you he is making payments of $400 a month on this debt. He doesn’t currently know how long it will take to pay it off, so we’ll just set it as $400 a month until the balance reaches zero. Click Done to enter that debt into the plan.

Now, you’ll see the debt reflected on the Assets vs. Debt chart. You can also go to the Debts chart, where you’ll see the credit card debt being paid down over time with an expected payoff date in 2027.

If you go to Details → Debts, you can also use the slider bar to see how the debt is paid off over time.

If you have any questions while working in a plan, always feel free to click the client’s name and select Request Support to reach out to us. This sends us a link to your plan and allows us to review it and provide assistance.
