Transcript

In today’s training, I will be walking you through how to update your Voyant plan to the new planning year. In Voyant, you can use a couple of different standards: either a calendar year or a tax year. In the example I’ll show today, we’ll use a calendar year.

First, click the name of your plan in the top right corner, then go to Manage Plans. Select Update and Promote, and we’ll update the 2024 plan to a 2025 plan so that we can start planning for the next year. Click Update and Promote, then Next.

You’ll need to give the new plan a name. For example, I’ll call it Current Position 2025. Choose to set the date manually, and we’ll use January 1st, 2025. Click through to Promote, then select Promote again.

Once that’s done, click Next. The software will ask if you want to update any of the values in the plan or review them to make sure everything is accurate. Go through the review, make any necessary changes, and select Done to save and update the plan to the new planning year.

You’ll now see Current Position 2025 in the top right corner. If you go to Show All Plans, your 2024 plan will now appear in the historical section. In Year View, the plan will start in 2025. If you need to refer back to your 2024 plan, it will be locked for compliance purposes, providing a historical record of any conversations or planning done in the past. In Year View, the 2024 version will appear as read-only.

Going back to your 2025 plan, you’ll now be able to do active planning in this version.

I hope that was helpful. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at support@planwithvoyant.com. You can also click the name of your client, select Request Support, enter your question into the text box, and share client access to the plan you’re working on so we can take a look.
