The Dimensional AU Market Assumptions 2026 provide updated long-term capital market assumptions based on current market expectations. Advisers with existing plans using the Australia Market Assumptions 2021 may wish to update their plans to take advantage of these revised assumptions.
Important: Before changing the market assumptions in an existing client plan, we recommend updating and promoting the plan first. This preserves the original version should you need to compare results after making the change.
Changing the Market Assumptions
- Open the client's plan.
- From the Dashboard, select Plan Settings.
- Select Market Assumptions from the left-hand menu.
- Click Change.
- From the list of available market assumptions, select Dimensional AU Market Assumptions 2026.
The assumptions associated with the selected market set will be displayed below the selection window.
- Click Apply Changes, then select Done to save your changes.
If You Receive an Asset Allocation Warning (Important)
After changing market assumptions, you may receive a warning indicating that some asset allocations are no longer valid.
This typically occurs when asset class names differ between the previous and new market assumption sets. Any investment or superannuation account using portfolio-based growth may require its asset allocation to be updated.
Click Show Details to review the affected accounts, then select Continue. Any allocation issues can be resolved afterwards by updating the affected asset allocations.
Review the Default Asset Allocation
After updating the market assumptions, review the Default Asset Allocation under Plan Settings.
This allocation will be applied by default to any investments or superannuation accounts that are configured to grow using Portfolio/Holdings.
If required, individual accounts can be assigned their own asset allocation.
Add new allocation Percentages.
Verify Growth Rates
Once the market assumptions and default asset allocation have been updated, it's good practice to review the projected growth rates being applied throughout the plan.
Navigate to:
Let's See → Year View
Then review the Investments and Superannuation tabs, paying particular attention to the Net Growth column.
Selecting an individual account will display additional information including:
- Gross growth rate
- Income yield
- Investment fees
- Net growth rate
This allows you to confirm that each account is using the expected assumptions after the update.
