Voyant’s Australian release includes updated Age Pension payment amounts, income and assets test thresholds, and deeming assumptions.
These updates may change the Age Pension projected in your clients’ plans, including the amount they receive and when payments are expected to begin.
Availability: Included in the release scheduled for 29 October 2026, subject to completion of deployment.
What is changing?
The update refreshes the values used in Voyant’s existing Age Pension calculations:
- Maximum Age Pension payments for single and partnered clients.
- Income test thresholds used to assess how income affects projected payments.
- Assets test thresholds, including the different thresholds for homeowners and non-homeowners.
- Deeming thresholds and rates used to calculate assumed income from assessable financial assets.
This is an update to the calculation tables. It does not introduce a new Age Pension entry screen or change the underlying assessment method.
How could this affect a client’s plan?
The effect will depend on the client’s circumstances.
For example:
- Updated maximum payments may change the income projected for a client receiving the full Age Pension.
- Changes to thresholds may affect a client receiving a part pension or approaching eligibility.
- Changes to deeming assumptions may alter the income assessed from financial assets.
An increase in maximum pension payments does not necessarily mean every client’s projected payment will increase. Income, assets and the applicable assessment thresholds all influence the result.
Deemed income is an assumed amount used for the income test. It is not necessarily the actual interest, dividends or investment growth earned by the client. Read more about deeming.
Where can I review the results?
After the update is available:
- Open the client’s plan.
- Open Year View from the Dashboard or Let’s See.
- Select a year in which the client may be eligible for Age Pension.
- Open the Pensions tab and review the Age Pension Summary.
- Expand the Income Test and Assets Test sections to inspect the assessment.
- Check Cash Flow to see the projected Age Pension payment alongside the client’s other income.
Compare several years if you want to understand when eligibility begins or why the payment changes. See Age Pension – Australia for more detail.
Do I need to enter Age Pension income manually?
Voyant models Age Pension automatically using the information in the plan. Avoid adding a separate income entry simply to reflect this update, as this could duplicate the projected benefit.
Review the client’s circumstances and account information, particularly:
- Relationship and homeownership status.
- Income and asset balances.
- Account ownership.
- Superannuation balances and pension arrangements.
Why do future-year figures differ from today’s amounts?
Voyant projects future Age Pension maximum payments and income and assets test thresholds using the Centrelink COLA Rate.
You can review this assumption under Dashboard → Plan Settings. Future-year figures may therefore differ from the current published amounts. Learn about Australian COLA assumptions.
Need help understanding a result?
If a payment looks unexpected, contact Voyant Support with the plan name, scenario and year you are reviewing, together with the amount you expected to see.
Voyant’s projection is a planning estimate. Actual entitlement is determined by Centrelink using the client’s circumstances and the rules applicable at the time.
