Using Merge and Export with the Intelliflo Integration
This article explains how to use the Merge and Export functionality within the Intelliflo (IO) integration in Voyant. These tools allow you to connect existing client records, synchronize updated values, and send new or updated data back to Intelliflo.
Merging an Existing Voyant Client with Intelliflo
In this example, the client record already exists in both Voyant and Intelliflo but is not yet connected.
Start the Merge Process
- Open the client in Voyant
- Click the Plus (+) button
- Select Import
- Search for the client using their name
You will see two options:
- Merge
- Overwrite
⚠️ Important:
Only select Overwrite if you are 100% certain that the data in Intelliflo should completely replace the data in Voyant. In most cases, you should select Merge.
Reviewing the Merge Mapping Screen
During the merge:
- Voyant detects data in Intelliflo and compares it to existing items in Voyant
- Items are mapped by type (e.g., expenses, employment, investments)
- You will see options to Connect, Skip, or Create New items
At this stage:
- Review the data on the left-hand side (Intelliflo)
- No changes are made until you confirm later
- Clicking Next does not activate connections yet
Checkpoint: Connecting or Skipping Items
At the checkpoint:
- Top section = data from Intelliflo
- Bottom section = existing data in Voyant
You decide how each item should be handled:
- Skip items you do not want to bring over (e.g., expenses if you use goals instead)
- Connect items that represent the same account or asset
- Create New items when the Intelliflo data does not match anything in Voyant
Examples
- Employment: Connect to the existing Voyant employment record
- Investments: Connect updated Intelliflo values to existing Voyant investments
- Pensions: Connect updated pension values
- Savings: Connect to the matching savings account
Once reviewed, click Done to complete the merge.
Result of a Successful Merge
After merging:
- The client record is now connected
- A connection icon appears on linked items
- Future reviews allow you to update values from Intelliflo using the same import process
Exporting Data from Voyant to Intelliflo
Export is used when:
- New items were added in Voyant
- Updates were made during a review meeting
- Data needs to be sent back to Intelliflo
Start the Export Process
- Open the client in Voyant
- Click the Plus (+) button
- Select Export
By default, all items are selected for export.
Selecting Items to Export
During export:
- Deselect items you do not want to send back (e.g., expenses)
- Select only the relevant items, such as:
- Joint cash accounts
- ISAs
- Bonds
- Final salary pensions
- State pensions
⚠️ Note:
Currently, export defaults to all items. Filtering to only unconnected items is an enhancement in progress.
If updating previously connected items, ensure Update is selected.
Export Checkpoints and Mapping
As you proceed:
- Voyant asks you to confirm the Intelliflo account type for each item
- Cash accounts
- Stocks & Shares ISAs
- Insurance Investment Bonds
- Final Salary Schemes
- State Pension (mapped to Income)
Review each mapping and click Next.
A final checklist shows all items selected for export.
If needed, you can go Back, Cancel, or continue.
Click Done to complete the export.
After Exporting
Once complete:
- Exported items appear as connected in Voyant
- In Intelliflo, new plans and accounts will appear after refreshing
Provider Name Note
- Exported items may show as “Unknown Provider”
- You will need to manually edit the provider name in Intelliflo
- Improving provider mapping is an enhancement currently in progress
Current Limitations to Be Aware Of
- Deferred final salary schemes may not export fully
- Some exported items may appear in alternate sections (e.g., Fact Find)
- Filtering exports to only unconnected items is in development
