Overview
The Legacy screen in Voyant has been redesigned for the Canadian region to better support advisers and their clients. This update focuses on improving readability, simplifying navigation, and creating a more intuitive experience when reviewing estate outcomes.
The new design brings key results into focus, while still allowing advisers to explore detailed breakdowns when needed. Information is organized using collapsed and expanded views, making it easier to move between high-level insights and deeper analysis.
Legacy Summary
The Legacy Summary is now the central focus of the screen. It provides a clear, high-level view of:
- Total wealth (pre-tax)
- Estimated tax impact at death (Terminal Tax)
- The amount ultimately transferred to beneficiaries, corporations, and charities (post tax)

- Improved layout for clearer interpretation of legacy outcomes

Total Wealth
This section reflects the client’s total wealth in the plan (pre-tax).
Collapsed View
Displays the total value of all assets and liabilities combined.
Detailed View
Provides a breakdown of wealth into key categories, such as:
- Savings & Investments
- Property
- Corporate Holdings
Other assets (where applicable)
Note: Liabilities are shown separately to provide a clear net position.
Terminal Tax Summary
This section provides a view of estimated taxes at death.
Collapsed View
Displays the total estimated tax liability.
Detailed View
Breaks down taxes into more granular components, helping advisers understand:
- The sources of tax liability
- How totals are calculated
- The overall impact on the estate
Total Wealth Transfer
This section highlights how much wealth is ultimately passed on after taxes and planning strategies are applied.
Collapsed View
Displays the total amount transferred across all recipients.
Items being transferred via Trust will show as transferring outside of the estate.
Detailed View
Provides additional insight into how wealth is distributed across:
- Beneficiaries
- Corporations (if applicable)
- Charitable giving (if applicable)
Summary Flowchart
The redesigned Summary Flowchart provides a visual representation of how wealth moves through the estate.
It highlights:
- How assets are distributed at each mortality event
- The flow of wealth to beneficiaries, corporations, and charities
- The distinction between different transfer paths
The flowchart is optimized for clarity across screen sizes and works seamlessly in both single-scenario and comparison views.
Legacy Detail Cards
The redesigned Legacy screen introduces focused cards that allow advisers to explore specific areas of a client’s estate in more detail.
These cards support deeper conversations while keeping each topic clearly organized and easy to understand.
Trusts & Corporations Card
This card provides a summary of entities included in the plan.
- Displays total values for trusts and/or corporations
- Dynamically adjusts based on what is included in the plan
Clearly indicates when no entities are present
Taxes Card
The Taxes card brings together tax-related information in a structured format.
Individuals
- Displays tax information for the primary client and spouse/partner
- Maintains a familiar structure with improved readability
Corporations
- Provides a view of corporate-related tax impacts
Taxes (New)
- A new section showing trust-related tax outcomes
- Helps provide a more complete picture of estate taxation
Valuation Summary
The Valuation Summary table provides a detailed breakdown of:
- Assets and liabilities included in the plan
- The values contributing to the overall legacy outcome
- How individual line items contribute to totals
This view supports deeper analysis and validation of results.
Scenario Comparison
When comparing scenarios, the redesigned Legacy screen makes it easier to identify differences:
- Matching items are displayed side-by-side
- Sections expand and collapse in sync (top-level sections)
- Items that exist in only one scenario are clearly identified
This allows advisers to quickly assess the impact of different planning strategies.
