Introducing Wealth Flow
Wealth Flow is a new dynamic visualisation tool in Voyant that turns complex financial plans into clear, interactive visual stories. Rather than relying on static reports, Wealth Flow gives you and your clients a comprehensive look at yearly financial activity, making it simple to track and understand how money moves throughout the plan.
By illustrating the anticipated use of the Nil Rate Band, as well as the flow of assets, income, liabilities, and expenses, advisers can guide clients through the movement of money in the plan and foster engaging planning conversations.
Where to Find It
You can access Wealth Flow in the Let’s See menu.
From here, clients and advisers can explore how money moves year by year using the age slider, following flows between accounts, income sources, properties, debts, and gifting.
Navigation
Starting Point – The first year of the plan displays initial values, without transaction arrows, as a baseline to show where they are now.
Star items to focus on, whether that is the Goals & Expenses and Gifts total or money into and out of a particular account.
Navigate to and from Year View, Balance Sheet, Income vs Expenditure and Wealth Flow by clicking on the 3 lines top right as shown below:

Legacy & Estate Planning
To model a Gift or charitable donation please see this guide: How to model a gift or charitable donation - UK
In Wealth Flow the Remaining Nil Rate Band (NRB) and the Cumulative Potentially Exempt Transfers (PETs) and Chargeable Lifetime Transfers (CLTs) figures for the last 7 years are shown at the top for each year. This can indicate:
Whether there is likely to be any remaining NRB for further gifts,
When 7 years has passed and the gift is no longer part of the estate calculations
Or if they were to die in that year, and the NRB is £0, whether the gifts that have been made are greater than the NRB and may be subject to tax to the recipients.
If there are Gifts made in that year which use the Annual Exempt Amount (£3,000 at time of writing) then they will show in the Gift tile, but will not show as PETs or CLTs, so you can also see regular exempt gifting made that does not potentially use up the Nil Rate Band on death.
Note if you would like to model gifting out of regular expenditure, these are set up as standard Goals/Expenses (not Gifting Goals) and will fall under the 'Goals & Expenses' tile.
Key Categories Tracked in Wealth Flow
Wealth Flow provides a complete, filterable view of a client’s financial life, including:
-
Accounts – Visualise transfers between savings and investment accounts, as well as pension contributions and the proportion from their personal income, Tax relief and Employer.
Goals & Expenses – Highlight total money needed in each year by viewing the Goals & Expenditure figure. This matches up with the Year View - Expenses total, so includes all Goals, Expenses, Tax and contributions in this value.
Cash Flow Income - Compare their earnings with the total Goals & Expenditure figure to see if there is projected to be surplus income.
Properties – Track value changes as properties are purchased, sold, or transferred.
Debts & Liabilities – Show how debts are repaid and their impact on overall financial health.
Charity & Gifting – Monitor charitable giving and gifts to family or others.
Taxes – Provide clients with a view of taxes due in that year under Taxes Attributed (which may be different in Voyant from the taxes paid in year, if income is taxed in arrears).
